At Jacaranda Meadow, we provide safe, supportive accommodation for young people aged 16–17 as they transition from care to independent living. Our mission is to nurture confidence, independence, and wellbeing in every young person we support.

Our Approach
At Jacaranda Meadow, we take a trauma-informed and relationship-based approach to supporting young people.
We recognise that each young person arrives with their own experiences, strengths and challenges, and we tailor our support to meet their individual needs.
Our focus is on building trusting, consistent relationships that create stability and engagement.
Through structured keywork and day-to-day support, we help young people develop practical life skills, emotional resilience and confidence.
Support is delivered in a way that promotes gradual independence, allowing young people to progress at a pace that is safe, realistic and appropriate for their development.
We work closely with each individual to support engagement in education, employment or training and to prepare them for successful independent living.
We also work in partnership with local authorities and other professionals to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to each young person’s care and progression.
Meet Our Team
Barbara
Founder & CEO
Barbara is a dynamic and compassionate nurse with over two decades of experience across healthcare and occupational health. A Queen’s Nurse and Cavell Star Award recipient, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and teams through complex health and wellbeing challenges. From leading vaccination centres during the pandemic to shaping workplace health policies, Barbara combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to care, respect, and empowerment. At Jacaranda Meadow, she channels this passion into creating a safe, supportive home for care leavers, helping young people transition with confidence and dignity.
Lydia
Education & Wellbeing Lead
Lydia is a compassionate and experienced education and wellbeing professional, with a career spanning teaching and healthcare. Early work as a healthcare support worker for children with complex needs shaped her calm, patient, and empathetic approach, which continues to guide her practice today.
At Jacaranda Meadow, she creates inclusive, supportive environments for care leavers aged 16–18, helping them stay engaged in education, build confidence, and prepare for independent adulthood. Through her dedication, Lydia empowers young people to transition to independence with assurance, resilience, and a sense of possibility.
Benjamin
Compliance, Quality & Projects Manager
Benjamin is a dedicated and practical leader with a career built on creating safe, supportive environments. He combines a calm, solutions-focused approach with hands-on experience managing day-to-day operations, ensuring Jacaranda Meadow provides a stable home where care leavers feel secure and supported.
As Service Manager, he oversees the running of the building and all aspects of care, making sure every young person’s needs are met and that the home operates smoothly. Through his work, Benjamin ensures Jacaranda Meadow remains a place where care leavers can feel valued, understood, and genuinely cared for.
Xiong-Xiong
Chief Morale Officer (Part Time & Treat Funded)
Xiong-Xiong is Benjamin’s calm and very fluffy spaniel, who occasionally visits Jacaranda Meadow. While not a trained support dog, he is naturally gentle, friendly, and loves meeting new people, helping to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for young residents. When he’s not greeting visitors, you’ll find him exploring the garden, enjoying his favourite treat of Weetabix and milk, or curling up in a sunny spot for a well-earned nap.
